The Therapeutic Process:
A Co-Created Endeavor
What to Expect in a Session
Each session is unique and responsive to what emerges in the moment. There is no set formula for our time together, and you are invited to show up exactly as you are. Whether you come with something on your mind or heart, or simply need space to explore what’s present, we will listen deeply to whatever is calling for our attention.
We may revisit themes from previous sessions or focus on what is alive and fresh right now. Even when it seems disconnected, everything is linked—like threads weaving together to bring clarity, insight, and a new sense of vision, revealing what was once hidden.
How I Guide the Process
My approach centers on presence, kindness, and humility. I bring my full humanity into our work, offering compassionate inquiry to explore deeper layers in your reflections and experiences. I may gently challenge you when appropriate and include moments of silence to allow emotions and insights to surface naturally.
I also use silence as a tool for grounding, helping you connect with your body, thoughts, and emotions without interference. As we move through the session, I often check in, asking questions like, “How did what I say resonate with you?” or “What’s coming up for you now?” These questions help create safety, trust, and openness in our work together.
Drawing from my mindfulness training, I encourage slowing down and connecting with the present moment. We may engage in guided meditations, grounding exercises, or self-compassion practices. I also invite you to connect with your breath, explore bodily sensations, or name emotions as they arise. This process fosters awareness, presence, and deeper self-understanding.
What We Explore
Our sessions often explore the dynamic interplay between the interpersonal (connections with others) and intrapersonal (connection with yourself).
In the interpersonal realm, we might navigate communication, conflict, or boundaries in relationships.
In the intrapersonal realm, we may explore emotional regulation, patterns of thinking and behavior, self-compassion, and connecting to your core values, needs, and desires.
As we move through this process, time can become fluid. While we work within the container of a consistent session structure, we may explore memories, longings, and patterns that transcend linear time. For instance, understanding how past relationships—like family or childhood dynamics—have shaped your present interactions can empower you to consciously create the relationships you desire. We may also examine ancestral or generational patterns to gain clarity and freedom in how you define yourself and your future.
Through this process, you may connect with different parts of yourself, such as your inner child or wise elder, allowing for healing, guidance, and growth. All emotions—grief, joy, anger—are welcome and given space to be fully felt and understood.
